Exam Dates For Both Undergraduate And Graduate Level Post

The Graduate Level CBT 1 examination has already been held from 16 March to 27 March 2026. If you had appeared for that, the subsequent rounds will come accordingly your performance. 

The second CBT at the undergraduate level is being held from 7 May to 21 June 2026 in various stages at present. More than 6.3 million candidates had registered for the exam at the UG level alone. That should give you some idea of how tough this recruitment is. 

The RRB NTPC Selection Process 

This is the multi-level selection process in which you must go through four stages of selection to secure a position:

Stage 1: CBT 1 

The first stage of the exam in which 100 questions have been asked from Mathematics, General Intelligence and Reasoning, and General Awareness. You have to give the correct answer within 90 minutes because the wrong answer took one-third of a mark. But CBT-1 marks are not counted in merit list, it is just a door for CBT-2 exam. 

Stage 2: CBT 2 

The paper is more relevant to your preferred job role and difficulty level also depends on different pay levels but the syllabus is the same as CBT-1. This is where you have to perform well because a CBT-2 score adds to the final merit.

Stage 3: Skill Test 

Only hard level posts will attempt this stage such as Station Master and Traffic Assistant posts. There is a Computer-Based Aptitude Test which has 30% weightage in the final merit, so clear it with concentration.

Typing tests are required for Junior Clerk, Senior Clerk, and Accounts Assistant roles. Typing speed in both English and Hindi are required but it is just a qualifying test.

Stage 4: Document Verification and Medical Exam

Who Is This Test For? 

UPGET is conducted for those candidates who aspire for a career in nursing and healthcare but not for 4-year B.Sc. Nursing degree. The UPGET is designed for the candidates who want to pursue a career in nursing and healthcare but do not wish to take the route for a four years B.Sc.Nursing course or are not qualified for the same.  

Recent 12th Graduates: Those who have completed 12th standard (Intermediate) recently and want to enter the healthcare workforce at the earliest by opting for a 3-year diploma. 

Students from Diverse Academic Backgrounds: Science students are the most preferred for medical fields, but through UPGET the GNM course opens doors for students belonging to Arts and Commerce stream too to apply for the same if they have English as one of the core subject and other minimum percentage bar is met. 

Registered ANMs: Registered Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANMs) who wish to upgrade their qualification and career path can take this exam to shift to the higher GNM post.

  • You must be above 17 years old and have no max age limit for this exam.

Alternative Eligibility for ANMs 

If you have passed the vocational course of ANM with a minimum of 40% marks or if you are registered as ANM and have qualifying marks, then you can apply for the UPGET. 

Citizenship 

Only Indian citizens are eligible for this exam. Possession of a valid Uttar Pradesh domicile certificate also assists in availing the benefits of state-sponsored reservations (SC/ST/OBC/EWS). 

Syllabus: What To Study For UPGET? 

The good thing about UPGET is that the syllabus is manageable, as opposed to NEET. It evaluates your fundamentals. Try each question (100 MCQs) as there is no negative marking.

Syllabus breakdown for right preparation:

1. General Science (Class 10th Level) 

Basic aspects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology are discussed in this section. Nurses therefore understand the human body and chemicals at a fundamental level, so focus heavily on Biology (human anatomy, diseases, nutrition, cells) with a bit of basic Physio as well.

Step 3: The results will be declared by ABVMU on their portal. According to the scores, a state-wide Merit List is formed. Your position in this list is everything. 

Step 4: Qualified applicants will apply for online counseling. You need to fill your “Choices” (Colleges you want to opt in the order of preference). 

Step 5: Your college will be allotted to you on the basis of your rank, category and the options submitted. You have to accept the seat and then go to the college along with your original documents (12th mark sheet, Aadhar Card, Caste Certificate, Domicile) for verification and submission of fee.

  • Take a Drop and Re-attempt, a dedicated 6-month preparation plan will almost guarantee a great rank next year. 
  • You can also consider a 2-year ANM diploma course which is actually easier to get into.

NTA UGC NET is a national-level entrance exam which tests your knowledge of education and aptitude that is required to teach students of higher level. After finishing your graduation, you can take the exam while pursuing a masters degree. There are three categories that you can get into:

Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) & Assistant Professor: if you want to teach university or college level students, a specific subject in which you qualify your graduation. You will get a government stipend to complete your Ph.D.

Assistant Professor & Ph.D. Admission: you are qualified to teach in college but this test will make you eligible for the central universities.

Ph.D. Admission Only: you can secure a seat in Ph.D on the basis of the score, but it doesn’t qualify you for JRF or teaching.

Educational Qualification

There are many routes to follow the destination in which the first one is standard: hold Master’s degree / 55% marks for General or EWS mandatory / 50% marks for OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD mandatory.

Still in the final year of Master’s: apply and appear in NET exams as you can get your degree within two years, and NET results too.

Recent update for 4-Year Bachelor’s degree students: 75% marks mandatory / JRF and Ph.D. admission allowed.

It is totally online, you will sit at a computer center and click through multiple-choice questions. There are two papers and 3-hours given time. No Break!

Salary and Career Breakdown
